These are pretty normal slowdowns. 880 slows from about san leandro down into union city. San mateo and dumbarton bridges are moderate. 7 02. Back to the desk. The Republican Leadership is getting a difficult time for all 52 members to support the Gop Health Care bill. Five have come out against it so far. Allie rasmus is explaining the challenges ahead. Gasia, the release of the Nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office announced it yesterday. It is hurting the bills prospects. It announced it would cause 22 million americans to Lose Health Care coverage over the next ten years. President trump reportedly made personal phone calls to some of the five gop senator whos did not support the Health Care Bill as it is now. They are holding their support for different reasons. Suzanne colins of maine and dean heller of nevada say it is too harsh kicking people off medicaid. Others like rand paul says it doesnt go far enough to repeal obamacare. The aarp is one of several groups coming out against the plan. It would allow insurance insurers to charge older adults five times more than younger people. Under obamacare the rates were capped at three times more. The medical Association Says it violates the do no harm. It would cut taxes for corporations by cutting subsidies depending on the report. It would also pay for the tax cuts by cutting back medicaid over the next ten years. This bill is not just a roll back of the Affordable Care act. It is a roll back of medicaid, which has been around since 1965. Now, in response to all of the criticism, Vice President mike pence hosted a Health Care Listening session with families in washington who have been hurt by the Affordable Care act. Our Research Shows that a third of american counties, including five whole states, have only one choice of obamacare coverage, which is no choice at all. Senate leader Mitch Mcconnell is only afford to lose the support of two of the gop senators out of the 52 member caucus if the bill passes and moves forward. Right now there are five that oppose it. There are likely arm twisting and deal making going on this morning to win over the senators. Gop leaders would vote on the bill before thursday before they break for the july 4th holiday. Premiums could go up from 190 to 360. Premiums for 20yearolds earning 65,000 would jump by 552 . Tens of thousands of people earning between 42 and 48,000 a year would no longer be eligible to receive a federal subsidy for insurance they bought through covered california. Ford is changing a controversial part of the new Bike Sharing Program according to the San Francisco examiner. The go bike program will place 7,000 bikes on sidewalks in San Francisco, san jose, oakland, emryville and berkeley. The feature of the 15 go pass could put other businesses out of business. The bike shops say that caters to tourists. Well, now ford will offer a day pass that can be used for unlimbed 30 minute rides. Sal castaneda talked with the program leaders. New this morning, a National Transportation Research Group is out with a new list showing californias rural roads are the worst and the most deadly in the country. The study evaluates the safety and condition of our rural roads and bridges. 38 of californias rural roads are in Poor Condition. That is the third highest rate in the nation. The rate of fatal accidents on the roads is the second highest in the nation, only behind south carolina. The reports of the study show the consequences of years of backlog maintenance. This is all part of a fiveyear plan to incrementally increase the toll for the Golden Gate Bridge. Starting next week, commuters and really everyone else for that matter, anyone that wants to drive across the iconic span, will have to cough up another quarter to do that. Starting this monday, july 3rd, drivers with fast track will begin paying 6. 75 for every trip across the bridge. Without fast track, you will have to pay 7. 75. And the cost for carpoolers is going to jump up to 4. 75. The district has been increasing tolls 25 cents every year since 2014 in an effort to try to offset a budget shortfall. Some drivers were talking to this morning say the increase in cost to cross the bridge makes you think twice about taking that trip into the city. Thats a lot of money. When you consider how much it costs to park in San Francisco, coming from marin, going to San Francisco is you have to think about it. Reporter we should also point out that the tolls for large trucks with more than two axles will increase by even more than a quarter. Were not done with the fare hikes. The costs to cross the Golden Gate Bridge will go up by another 25 cents next year in 2018. This years increase, again, will take effect starting this monday, july 3rd. There is congestion on 680 from the 242 interchange to highway 24 as you drive through the area. Also looking at the east shore freeway. Another part of contra costa into alameda county. Carquinez bridge to the macarthur maze, 33 minutes driving out. This is a look at the bay bridge toll plaza. You can see that is backed up. It is pretty crowded. This is a normal commute which is to say 20, 25 minutes before you make it on to the span. San mateo bridge is also crowded. Is saying the San Francisco airport could experience 49minute average delays later today when it gets busy on the airport routes. Look at the low traffic on 880. South and north.
