We have clouds overhead, a little bit of fog along the coastline. These clouds will be with us for the afternoon today. They will thin out at times, thicken once again but again adjustment for your afternoon as well as your evening hours. The possibility of these clouds pulling through. Im going to show you the futurecast model in a moment. First lets talk about what is going on now. 58 degrees outside in santa rosa. 56 San Francisco. Upper 50s in oakland, concord 59, upper 50s with partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies in san jose, where christian is out for the rock n roll marathon there. Heres the broad view of what is happening. This trough remains off the coastline. You can see how those mid and high level clouds are being fed right into the bay area. That is not going to change. That will be with us for today. Last night, the futurecast model had plenty of cloud cover over the area in time for that supermoon Lunar Eclipse. Now looks like its backed off just a little. Let me show what you is going on. At 7 00 this evening where were looking at the full face eclipse beginning to take place from 7 11 to 8 23 is the time frame. So as we get into 8 00 notice not a lot going on. Keeping in mind this could change. We have a few hours to go. But in any case, plan for it in case. We may in and out of these high and midlevel clouds, then see that transition to a full moon as we get into 9 00 and 10 00. Two numbers for you as we get into the Morning Hours, temperatures will remain in the mid to upper 50s. As we get into the afternoon temperatures will be similar to yesterday, slightly cooler for some perhaps. 89 in novato. 84 san rafael. Mid70s sausalito. 77 richmond and closer to the coast 68 with steinston beach. In theupper 80s to low 90s for danville and walnut creek. Shifting into the south bay a warm one in san jose for the second half, 87 san jose, 88 los gatos and 86 expected for you along areas of saratoga, 87 sunnyvale. For the peninsula this afternoon, 82 redwood city, 78 san mateo. 74 San Francisco. Along the coast not a bad day, upper 60s to low 70s. We could be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy again, similar to yesterday. Temperatures cool off a bit more as we start the week on monday. Drop a little more tuesday. Wednesday, very similar day. We could see temperatures bottom out wednesday and then we begin a warmup on thursday which happens to be the first day of october. So when we think things are finally cooling off not just yet. We have still, looks like the first part of october where we typically get a warmup. Then the closer we get to halloween temperatures really then begin to fall off. Its a little disappointing that some of the clouds we see now, they are going to stick around and it might prevent folks on the coast and bay from seeing that supermoon eclipse. I do expect well have the clouds but were you out last night . At times, the moon was veiled, then you could see it at times. Were optimistic, were going to see it. If not well watch the video tomorrow. Still ahead hundreds of thousands of people will see the pope today but for those who cant theres an app for that. Believe it or not. What you need to know to use it. Time now for our pet of the day. This is cupcake. A beautiful 8yearold calico cat who currently is at the Contra Costa CountyAnimal Services in martinez. Cupcake is very friendly, up for gentle petting. She may be scared of dogs though, no surprise there. The good news, shes spayed and ready to go home right away. Get on down there. Grow old with me let us share what we see just you and i grow old with me let us share what we see and oh the best it could be just you and i drinking sewage water, is a reality and may be coming to a faucet near you. Its called direct potable reuse, basically recycled sewage water cleaned and disinfected and Orange County residents have been drinking it for years. We find sources of supply for the groundwater basin so we can then pump it out of the ground and use it as a source of potable supply. Another plan, more pallable perhaps, distilling ocean water. The largest plant is under construction now near san diego. It will eventually provide 50 million gallons of drinkable water a day for San Diego County when it opens later this year. Prices at the pump
