like none others. -- none other, all to mourn the victims of the ghost ship fire. three bands are coming together to pay tribute to them and raise money to help.>> rob malcolm is there with the latest.>> reporter: i am at the hemlock tavern. it has been a very active year. the owners have been added since 10:00 this morning. any people paying tribute to the victims of the oakland fire. they are doing it the best way they know how, through music. as i said, three bands are playing. it's a very active inside, the man that brought this altogether is ship mehra, one of the lead singers and a guitar player. you are telling me earlier [ indiscernible ].>> [ indiscernible ] we have all lost friends to this fire, some friends. it affected us in the entire country. >> what did it take to pull all this together? >> this is a predetermined thing. we decided we need to make no money. we want to help everyone we can and benefit any victims of the fires. this is already something planned beforehand. we did want to keep anything. we want to share with the people who need it.>> do you ever play in the ghost ship?>> i have never been there. it's five blocks for my house. everyone i knew has been there, played shows there and also we had a ton of friends going there that night. luckily they did not enter the building that day.>> it's five blocks away from your house. you go by that scene. what goes through your mind?>> it is a tragic, unfortunate situation. you can blame any space, but we are pushing the fringes of society to play music in places where we can get the chance to show our music. i really, it's hard to put into words what happened there. i'm still trying to process it. >> you look around the street, there is quite a crowd. did you expect this kind of acerno?>> we usually have a turnout, but this night i think it differentiates the fact that people are here to support their community of music, which is a good feeling, that people are here for each other.>> you take the stage in half an hour? err at 11, an hour.>> you will be playing all night, then. a lot of people appreciate what you're doing. it says a lot about this community.>> i feel really happy that all these people are here to support the community. >> look inside, very busy. all the money tonight going from tickets will go to relief towards the victims. the first funeral for the oakland fire victims is set for tomorrow. friends and family members say draven mcgill loved to sing. the dublin teen performed with the youth choir and appeared on america's got talent. he was the youngest person killed in the fire. he was also the sun of and alameda county sheriff's deputy. a cold front is bringing snowy weather and below average temperatures to 80% of the country. this is the sea of a major pilot the michigan. at least 40 vehicles and three semi's were involved. cars were littered across the highway. forcing michigan state police to close the roadway in both directions.>> everybody had their flashers on. all the sudden it was a white out. cars were everywhere and kept getting hit and hit and went into the ditch..hit about 10 more times.>> is no squall reduced visibility to 50 feet at the time of the crash. the raid -- rain was in the foothills, and the water was moving so fast in grass valley. it is only been this bad a few times in the last 30 years. some watched from the sidelines but others worked to redirect the water away from their homes. >> it hasn't flooded or rained like this for six years. it's kind of nice. i welcome it. i know it is causing a little damage in some places, some roads, but we need the rain. i will take it how we can get it.>> by the end of the day there were reports of minor damage. no one has been hurt. the rain cause problems through much of the day. downed trees and flooded streets can crews busy. a power pole was brought down. pg&e says the tree came down overnight and knocked out power to a small neighborhood. another tree fell into the power lines on porter creek road, causing a mess for clean up crews. workers used chainsaws to cut through, then they untangled the branches from the electrical lines and cleared the debris out of the street.>> this creek looked more like a raging river. the waterfall cascaded down the road into the creek. the rain has led up. let's send it over to mark tamayo with the latest.>> a break between storms right now. partly to mostly cloudy skies. it has been a pretty productive week across the bay area, one storm coming in after the other. the strongest one was today, producing moderate to heavy rainfall, especially this morning. look at the numbers. the totals of the most recent storm, oakland, over an inch of rain. santa rosa, an inch of rain, san francisco, 0.83. on the satellite in the radar, we do have all this moisture streaming into northern and southern california. the last few frames, things have moved out to the south into the east. as i mentioned, clouds in place. looking out towards the sierra, lingering rain and snow showers. snow levels high, up above 8500 feet. as a result they picked up significant rainfall. heavy rain reported in tahoe city, reporting over 3 inches of rainfall, the storm total over the past 24 hours. in the bay area, a few clouds in place. we are setting up a break for sunday. stars -- the skies are partly cloudy. another storm will approach are shoreline in the next couple of days. pg&e says about 41,000 customers were in the dark today in the east bay. the outage affected parts of oakland, berkeley, and emeryville. it started around 1:30 and service was restored around for. bart had electrical problems as well. service was brought to a halt between hailey city and the 24th and mission street station. a train was stuck on the track for some time but bart says service was restored a few hours later. sfo has delays, 192 flights have already been delayed, 21 flights of been canceled. passengers are still experiencing delays of up to an hour. no flights were canceled in or out of oakland or san jose. we have had a lot of wet weather over the last few weeks. there are concerns over how the homeless are bailing out.>> reporter: tense and tarps have taken a beating -- tents and tarps of taking a beating. lilly dylan craft is 21 years old. she plans to leave today because she doesn't have a tent of her own.>> i've been out on the streets for a long time, but some of these people have been out on san francisco streets longer. i am here to talk about how they go through a lot. it is cold out here. >> reporter: this man moved out here 10 days ago. >> i screwed up and lost my job and got addicted.>> reporter: he came to the overpass because it was familiar.>> 10 or 12 years ago i was down here. i know how it is. there weren't as many people here, but now i am back.>> reporter: the spreading the love of jesus mission delivered hot meals this morning. >> it's miserable. the conditions are damp, cold. they are trying to stay dry. >> reporter: the group made visits to camps and hope one -- in oakland this morning. some people living on the streets say they have trouble finding room at local shelters or they choose to stay here instead of reaching out.>> i have friends i could probably call, but i don't want to be a nuisance. >> reporter: for those who can't or won't budge from outdoors, this mission says there are things you can give to help them survive.>> sleeping bags, blankets, warm coats, socks, just anything that would keep you warm keeps them warm. >> it is beautiful how many can help. anyone that can help us we appreciate it. just pray for these people. they do a lot.>> reporter: one of the top items homeless had asked for his bottled water. the family wellness group says they plan to do another drive of supplies and sleeping bags sometime in january. leigh martinez, ktvu fox 2news. a santa clara police officer was arrested today on suspicion of domestic violence. daniel bernal was arrested shortly after midnight. they found a woman with visible injuries who was dating him. he faces a felony domestic violence charge. he is on paid administrative leave. is a seven year veteran of the department. the dallas association held a dinner for officers to run in a dallas marathon. they are running in honor of five officers killed in an ambush in dallas. one sergeant says he and his coworkers have trained for the past few months in honor of those killed and affected by the shooting. >> we are here to support the dallas police department and help them get through a tough time. that, the marathon represents the same. a lot of officers will be feeling a lot of pain tomorrow, they will want to quit and we are going to, as officers, we will encourage each lost in an avalanche in tahoe. it was trevor -- triggered at the tahoe jackpot shoot around 10 am. crews search for the man, around 60, but were unable to locate him. rescue efforts were called off around 5 pm. officials will resume the search tomorrow morning. san jose police are trying to find the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run at three this morning at heading and north 15th. officers found a man dead at the scene back. investigators say he was walking the street when he was run down. no word on his identity or what type of he was involved. anyone with information should call
