they do face a significant challenge. and that russia can overcome these logistical hardships, and is now potentially taking a strategic pause to regroup outside of kyiv while it focuses on kharkiv. in many ways, we should be watching kharkiv very closely, because it could be a dress rehearsal for what happens here in kyiv. it's a city about half the size, 1.5 million people. it has been surrounded. after it was surrounded, it was being attacked with increasingly greater amounts of ordinance. and just a short while ago, according to ukrainian intelligence, russian paratroopers landed in the city and a fight ensued. so that pattern of encirclement, bombardment, and pair trooping in to the city, dropping troops into the city, could be something that they are preparing for while they are paused for a variety of reasons, including logistical challenges outside of kyiv. >> richard, it's chris hayes
