waiting for the rest. so yeah. >> as you capture some of these extraordinary photos, are people telling your stories? >> yes, for me, reporting and speaking to people is as important as documenting the photographs. i think it is important for me to have the correct stories behind the photos. it has been very chaotic. so in some instances i can't speak to people, i can't speak the language. but definitely whenever i can i try to get the back story. >> you're a mother as well, what is it like for you with your family so far away, and here you are with mothers, and their babies, and shelters? >> i try to compartmentalize. i try really hard not to think about my own family in these moments. it will be very hard to hold it together if i do. there are moments, of course, where i just cry. it is very difficult, what we're witnessing.
