loud. and confirmed my suspicion that a number of republicans actually don't want a border deal because they would rather have the issue at election time then work with us to solve it. that question is are there enough republicans, the kind of folks who voted for the debt ceiling deal back in june, are there enough who generally want to solve the problem hole partner with us. make no mistake about it, the overwhelming majority of house democrats and the overwhelming majority of senate democrats want reform on our immigration system and want beefed up resources for the southern border. if it doesn't happen, it will be because enough republicans, like troy nehls, and they rather have the issue at campaign time and solve the problem. >> punchbowl news is reporting that speaker johnson is now considering directly negotiating with the president. is it that gonna work? does that hold any promise?
