welcome back to "way too early." it's a little before 5:30 a.m. on the east coast, 2:30 out west. i'm jonathan le mire. president joe biden is slated to meet with senate judiciary committee leaders today to discuss the upcoming supreme court vacancy and the potential candidates to fill the prestigious slot. dick durbin and chuck grassley will meet with the president to go over potential nominees to replace justice stephen breyer who announced his retirement last week. biden has promised he will nominate a black woman to the high court. the white house is pushing back on the idea that the president choosing a certain candidate just to get bipartisan support, noting ronald reagan pledged to take a woman in 1980, and did so. white house reporter for bloomberg news, the man, the
