Good Morning America, linzie janis, abc news, new york. Thanks to linzie for that. Thank you for coming on this morning. We just saw at the end of linzies piece you say youre not proud of what happened but i think what a lot are waiting to hear is a clear apology. Yes, and i am very sorry. Its embarrassing. Its something im ashamed of and ive grown up from that 15yearold girl who used that type of language. Its
Never Acceptable and now i know how hurtful it is and it hurts me to know that at one point of my life i used that language. I said that and its not me. Do you understand how it happened . I do. I mean, at that age i was being a follower. I was friends. The word was thrown around and the music i listened to with the friends i hung out with and i had no guidance so it was kind of a careless mistake and owhen the tweet got brack up i was kind of like embarrassed, ashamed and just amazed that i actually at one point in my life thought it was okay to use that word because its never okay. You know now its not an excuse. Its not an excuse. There is no excuse to say that word ever at all. And what do you say we saw some people think you shouldnt have been able to keep the crown. A lot of people think that but ive grown from then and ive, you know, i blossomed into the person i am today and i think that i can turn this message into a positive message because there are people that use that word and its not acceptable ever. What have you learned from this . Ive learned that through every obstacle theres something positive that can come out of it and i can use my title to do great things and hopefully people learn from my mistakes because it is a big mistake, about, something that will stick with me and has definitely affected me and im just going to learn from it and try to move forward. Take us inside when this was happening. Were you prepared to lose the crown . What were those conversations like . I was like i said, i was trying to stay positive. Ive tried to stay positive through this. Ive been through a lot of obstacles and this is just another one ill have to go through. It was an incredibly bad mistake. Its and how do you plan on using and help fix this . Well, you know, people go through these obstacles. Ive gone through my own personal struggles and everyone has their own personal struggles but this doesnt give you an excuse to use this language or any bad language at all and it goes to show that it can come back and hurt you and it has definitely hurt me on the inside forever saying it has hurt other people, as well. Oh, its big when i come here. Yeah, well get to your story in a moment. First lawmakers are taking aim at pokemon go. New
York Governor Andrew Cuomo trying to keep potential predators away from it announcing hes restricting registered sex offenders on parole from playing after young gamers were found pokemon in the vicinity of known excons. Our chief legal analyst dan abrams is here to weigh in on this. This is really some serious stuff here and
Governor Cuomo went on to actually send a letter to the makers of the game asking how they can help keep sex offenders from playing the game legally. Is this effective. Yeah, well, look, first of all im more concerned about the people that arent registered than the ones who are registered when it comes to
Something Like this. And secondly, you know, theres away from a sex offenders home. That to me feels like politic, what is real and is a real concern is in the game the lure aspect of the game, the fact that you can actually pay to get people to come to you and there have already been potential crimes committed by people trying to lure people in the middle of the night to remote places. Thats a concern with regard to protecng i would expect as the case with any time there are additional restrictions on sex offenders, that there will be some sort of legal challenge to it. Is this something, i mean, i know we can try to legislate it but shouldnt the watchdog really be the parents in these cases and at the end of the day it has to be first and foremost the parents but, look,
Governor Cuomo in particular has really taken a lead when it comes to sex offenders online, which now requires them to sort of register all of their emails and any time theyre online, et cetera, and so i do think thats a legitimate issue. But in the end, its going to be the parents. You have to know where your kid is going, where are they playing, et cetera. And whos talking to them when theyre playing is a big, big scare for all of us parents in this electronic age. Dan, thanks so much. We move on to daredevils dangling off skyscrapers all for that photo. Oh pie gosh, looking at that. The makers of red bull are launching an eightpart series investigating the mindset of socalled urban explorers, adventurers who put their life in danger to capture the perfect shot and t. J. Holmes joins us. Just looking at these photos, this is dangerous. This is literally one wrong move, one way or another by a couple of inches and theyre going to fall to their death, period. Its that simple. These are urban explorers, urban this platform following them around. Thats the one you didnt see here but watching these, a trailer, will make you sick to your stomach. But they travel around, they go to these skyscrapers, they go to places that are offlimits and make no mistake these guys are good for what they do, they train at this but also good at trespassing breaking the law getting into a lot of places where theyre going but this is their showcase, our new generation of explorers. How about red bull . You can say, kids dont try this at home but are they in hot water. They havent gotten in hot water yet. The series
Just Launched so well see what happens down the road. They gave us a statement saying, hey, the risks and negative aspects of this lifestyle are documented. We got a lawyer here i forget sometimes. What say you . I think it would be tough to hold them responsible. If these people are going out doing this on their own, sponsored by red bull, if red bull is actually, for example, if red bull had a camera person there, that person is trespassing too but in most of these cases theyll be using their own goproper or
Something Like that i think it will be tough to a lot of these explorers have a long arrest record for trespassing. All right, t. J. , dan, thank you. Big calories. Is there any nutritional justification for having any of these items on the menu. So kind of you. Just trying to play devils advocate. Nope. But we have to remember that that. These restaurants are in the business of selling food and they wouldnt have these things on the menu if customers didnt buy them. Penn Jillette joins us right now. Thanks for being here today. We want to give everybody a sense is of how much you lost. I think we have your size 52 pants. Thats what i was wearing thats just 17 months ago. You can see am i s i got to tell you when i first heard about this i said this is nuts. How are you going to lose 100 pounds when you start off with two weeks of potatoes. The potatoes, first of all they arent raw and they were thats an arbitrary thing. It was really important for me im not good at moderation. I want to do hard core stuff. I wanted to lose the sense of eating socially and lose the sense of constantly bombarding breaking the habit. Salt, sugar and fat. So didnt have to be potatoes. They arent magic. I picked them because its the funniest word. I could have chosen beans or just almost anything to give you nutrients but not much more. For two weeks you dont need that many nutrients. You dont have to get a lot in. I was eating all the time. I was just eating fat. I was surprised by the idea no exercise. Well, during that time, i mean i had to really stress that. I exercise now. Bu w you dont want to be bodybuilding and exercise is bodybuilding. It also makes not eating a lot easier. How has it changed your life . Now youre a year in and lost the weight. Are you back to normal . Well, yeah, i eat very, very differently. You know, the thing is i dont respect moderation so i had to do stuff really intense. What i was most surprised about i used to consider myself a happy guy and i look back on it now an kind of sort of wasnt. I feel so great now. I have two young children. Its night and day. Its night and day. You know, i went in the vomit comet, zero g. Theres this emotional feel you feel when youre at zero g. Youre very, very happy. And when they do the other side and you get heavy you feel depressed. Those things are not figures of speech. Theres some sort of reality to it. I discuss feel lighter because im happier. Your kids are happier. Theyre thrilled to pieces except they would rather my son says once in a while you have to eat like a man. Every two weeks well have a pizza but i dont crave it at all. Once you break that habit its wicked easy. Penn jillette, thanks for coming in today. The book presto is out this morning and when we come back,
