Jurors found the former governor and his wife maureen, traded political favors for gifts and loans from a wealthy businessman for special treatment. Since his conviction, his legal team has appealed the verdict at every stage and exhausted all other legal options. The high court now has the final matter. Mcdonnells defense team believes federal jurors convicted the former governor on a broad definition of corruption and wants the justices to overturn his conviction.
