Funeral plans have been set for veteran firefighter John Ulmschneider. Meanwhile the man who shot him is back home. Derrick ward is live where it all started. Reporter good morning. Actually were at the firehouse where the firefighter who was killed in the line of duty friday worked out of on his usual days. And as you can see, an ambulance on which he would have worked and of course the nickname of the firefighter, skillet. It was 37yearold John Ulmschneider who was killed when he was responding to a call to check on the welfare of a person in temple hills. That person opened fire thinking according to officials that house was being burglarized. He was a 13yearold veteran of the department. The department receiving outpouring of support and grief from firefighters all over. And some of that will have to translate into service, taking place of firefighters as they observe the passing of this firefighter. Lets hear more about it that from mark brady. Palm beach zoo will remain closed today after a tie tiger turned on a keeper. It suddenly attacked and killed her. Lets take a live look at the national cathedral. The second phase of repairs to the cathedral is now under way. The building suffered damage in that 2011 earthquake that we had. Its much more stable now, but there are still broken pieces to put back in place. As hmegan mcgrath r this is exactly how the day it was left after earthquake and it popped at this joint here. Reporter it doesnt take much to literally move the stones of the grand pinnacle. Well repair damage here and grill larger hole, longer hole in the bottom. Reporter rattled by that earthquake back in 2011 more than five years later, it still needs Major Repairs and stone work is expensive and slow. It will likely take more than ten years to finish the work. This is an extremely labor intensive building. The stone work, assembling these stones, carving them, just very difficult and complex work. Youre not just putting up thin pieces of stone. Reporter a large crane will be used to lower the stones to the ground. No small feat considering they weigh between 400 and 2800 pounds. And the logistics present just one challenge. Money is another big problem. As it stands right now, there is only enough money to do the work here on the north steps. They need 22 million to complete the entire job and that all has to come from private donations. If the money isnt found, then the work is going to stop.
