A few days ago, I participated in a sort of seminar of concerned citizens, friends and neighbors.
The setting was a small private event facility in Perrysburg, Ohio — near a local, privately owned bookstore, a great place called Gathering Volumes.
During the pandemic, the owner of this bookstore bought a van and took to delivering books to shut-in and locked-down readers throughout northwest Ohio. Would that such a small innovation here and there could save journalism, or medicine.
Those around the table came together to discuss a book by Brian Alexander —The Hospital — about a small community hospital in a small, Ohio town — Bryan, Ohio.
