Utah pharmacy CEO sentenced for intending to sell mislabeled drug from China

A Utah pharmacy CEO will spend the next three years on probation after he pleaded guilty to receiving misbranded chloroquine from China with the intent to sell it in the United States. 
Daniel Kevin Richards, 37, of Sandy, Utah, will also be required to pay $10,000, a judge ruled in federal court Monday, according to the Utah U.S. Attorney’s Office. 
As part of his plea agreement, Richards, the CEO of Meds In Motion, admitted to importing and receiving over 50 kilograms of misbranded and mislabeled chloroquine from China in April of 2020--a month after the coronavirus pandemic began.
