Story by Lana Sweeten-Shults GCU News Bureau Sylvester Thomas chatted it up with everyone in line at the walk-through area of Grand Canyon University’s newly opened COVID-19 vaccination site. If he wasn’t a morning person before, the jovial Thomas was a morning person at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, despite standing outside in the plummeting January temperatures. He was ecstatic at being next in line to receive the Pfizer vaccine, which he hopes will protect him and the other 75-plus-year-olds in line with him. They want to be safe from an unforgiving virus that has taken the lives of so many and wreaked havoc on the economy over the past year.
