(WLFI) — It didn't take long for Braden Smith to commit to Purdue. The Westfield guard received an offer from the Boilermakers on Tuesday. On Thursday, he pledged to join Matt Painter's program. Smith is a 5-foot-10 prospect from the Class of 2022. He averaged 22.0 points, 6.2 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 2.7 steals a game last season. Purdue was Smith's only high major offer. The Shamrocks' standout also held offers from Appalachian State, Belmont, IUPUI, Toledo, Montana and North Texas — the team that knocked the Boilermakers out of the NCAA Tournament this past season.
