When and where you should look to view the SpaceX rocket launch on Friday Share Updated: 10:02 PM EDT Apr 21, 2021 SOURCE: SpaceX rocket launch The latest breaking updates, delivered straight to your email inbox. Share Updated: 10:02 PM EDT Apr 21, 2021 Take two! The SpaceX Falcon 9 Crew-2 mission has been delayed until Friday due to unfavorable weather conditions downrange of the launch site. The rocket is now scheduled for liftoff from Kennedy Space Center in Florida Friday morning at 5:49am.The Crew Dragon spacecraft atop the Falcon 9 rocket will transport 4 astronauts to the International Space Station. The flight path, once liftoff occurs, takes the rocket almost parallel to the Southeast Coast. This is why our view should be incredible. SpaceX reuses the rocket boosters by landing them on a droneship in the Atlantic Ocean. The landing of the Falcon 9 rocket will occur off the Southeast Coast. If you watch the rocket pass by our area, watch for the rocket and Crew Dragon spacecraft to separate. You may also see a red flare as the Falcon 9 rocket nears the droneship on the eastern horizon. How cool is that!I have watched numerous spacecraft launches from southeast Georgia and they are fascinating. The top image is from a SpaceX launch on February 3, 2021 viewed from Beaufort, SC.
