A new vaccine against Covid-19 has been shown to be nearly 90 per cent effective and works against both the UK and South African variants of the virus.
The UK Government has purchased 60 million doses of the Novavax vaccine, with manufacturing set to take place in Stockton-on-Tees in northeast England.
