Ever since a strong nor’easter sent pumping barrels to snow-covered beaches back in mid-December, the region’s fallen into a pattern of fun-but-not-quite-pumping surf lacking in size or power or both. Meanwhile, the North Pacific only added insult to injury by blessing West Coast and Hawaii surfers with weeks of nonstop firing surf.
