When the Yankees’ charter plane landed at Tampa International Airport early Thursday morning, they were about 10 minutes from the future of the organization.
The Yankees’ minor-league spring training has been underway for a week, starting when big-league camp ended. There, the club’s player development apparatus swings into full gear, looking to turn the talent of young phenoms such as 18-year-old Jasson Dominguez — Baseball America’s No. 32 overall prospect — and a slew of other highly regarded pupils into players who could impact the Bronx for years to come.
