It s been another successful year for the NZ Opera School. The summer school has been a January fixture in the Whanganui calendar for almost three decades.
The school started in 1994, founded by Donald Trott (ONZM) who is also the driver behind the associated Whanganui Opera Week where the students of the school perform at public events.
Trott is clear about the reasons for the school s success. ....

Many people learn foreign languages for different reasons ― for studying, traveling abroad or for business opportunities, to list just a few.
For Lee Ji-hyun, founder and CEO of Chinese language learning application Five Color Chinese, learning Chinese as a foreign language was about learning another way to view the world and express herself.
Lee said she learned English in elementary school, as she spent several years in New Zealand. She said she has since been able to access more information and hear different perspectives from people all over the world, even after she came back to Korea. ....

Talking about what contributed to the success of his brand Bharat said, “I think the biggest thing would be a fundamentally differentiated product. When we entered the market we did not just see one gap, the legacy giants were not innovating in several functions of a product company that make them great in today’s time- the Millenials and the Gen Z. So, there was no aspirational brand around a product which is so emotional for people on a daily basis. There were not many brands they could compete with a cafe kind of a coffee at a fraction of the cost and that was the need of the market and we catered to that segment.” ....
