ISLAMABAD: Former chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lt-Gen (R) Syed Muhammad Amjad has said Pakistan made an agreement with a firm whose one of the representatives was facing punishment for doing fraud and cheating with public.
The retired general made these startling revelations in his statement recorded with the Broadsheet Inquiry Commission. Being the chairman NAB, General Amjad met Ronad Rudman, Jerry James and Dr Pepper as representatives of Trouvons, who convinced the NAB boss that they had the requisite capabilities and resources to recover Pakistan's looted money abroad.
In his statement, General (retd) Amjad said he was informed that a special vehicle company in the name of Broadsheet LLC (Isle of Man) ("Broadsheet") and International Asset Recovery Company Limited ("JAR") would be formed solely to deal with the asset recoveries for Pakistan.

Broadsheet-NAB Played a 'post office' role only: Tariq Malik

LONDON: One of the architects of the Assets Recovery Agreement (ARA) between the Broadsheet LLC and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) said his role was only that of a “post office” between the two parties and nothing more.
Tariq Fawad Malik, who currently lives in Dubai and runs businesses from there, is considered the main character of the Broadsheet deal among General Amjad, Farouk Adam Khan, Jerry James and Dr William Pepper. General Amjad told Sir Anthony Evans that it was Tariq Fawad Malik – known also as TFM – who came to him with Ghaznafar Ali Khan for the first time to pitch the idea of recovering the alleged stolen billion from abroad through the so-called assets recovery firm Trouvons LLC.

It was early November morning when Kaveh Moussavi met with three unidentified men in the Nikko Hotel lobby. The discussions centered on valuable procurement contracts. According to Moussavi, these men were government officials and were demanding $1 million for the award of the contracts.
No, this is not Broadsheet and the meeting had nothing to do with Pakistan. This was Mexico in 1992, when Moussavi was acting as an agent for IBM and working on a 6.5 percent commission to help procure valuable radar and air navigation equipment contracts tendered by the Mexican government. Moussavi later broke the story to the Financial Times of how dirty officials in Mexico were fixing government contracts for bribes.

Tariq Fawad Malik: the founder of messy Broadsheet deal

LONDON: The state of Pakistan is assessing the mega loss of reputation and $65 million in litigation to the Broadsheet LLC that was formed with just £200 but one person who laid the foundation of this mess is Tariq Fawad Malik, a Lahore textile trader, who was able to convince General (retired) Amjad, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman in 2000, that he could help Pakistan bring back the “looted wealth” from overseas.
It was a flashy marketing brochure making wild claims about assets recovery that Mr Tariq Fawad Malik, a former Air Force (PAF) Pilot Officer dismissed from the service over fraud offences, showed to General Amjad, arranged a scripted visit to Colorado to win him over his trust and the rest is history.
