Late Wednesday afternoon, a Marshall County Deputy located the stolen vehicle from California on Highway 330. More than a third of IVH staff still refuse vaccine | News, Sports, Jobs

IOWA CAPITAL DISPATCH
Roughly 37 percent of the staff at the state-run Iowa Veterans Home are refusing to be vaccinated against the coronavirus.
That’s a decrease from the 46 percent refusal rate reported several weeks ago, but still leaves dozens of caretakers of Iowa’s elderly veterans unprotected.
Laurel Degelau, executive assistant for Iowa Veterans Home Commandant Timon Oujiri, said Tuesday that while 93 percent of the home’s resident veterans have chosen to get the COVID-19 vaccine, only 63 percent of the staff has chosen to do so.
“Once again, IVH, because of the dedication and education provided residents, families and staff, are well ahead of the national average,” Oujiri recently told the American Legion of Iowa, citing reports that suggest only 37 percent of the workers in America’s long-term care facilities are agreeing to be vaccinated. ....

Dropping mandates, hiking for stress: News from around our 50 states

From USA TODAY Network and wire reports
Alabama
Montgomery: Hospitals support an extension of a statewide face mask order, at least until more people become vaccinated against COVID-19, the head of the Alabama Hospital Association said Monday. Gov. Kay Ivey is expected to announce this week whether she will extend the face covering mandate and other health orders that are set to expire Friday. A spokeswoman for the governor expressed optimism about state coronavirus numbers. “All along, Gov. Ivey has made clear that she prefers personal responsibility to government mandates. We are optimistic that our state is heading in the right direction, and we still have some work to be done,” Gina Maiola said Monday. Alabama, like much of the nation, has seen a significant drop in daily COVID-19 cases, but medical officials cautioned that the virus has not gone away, and uncertainty remains about the impact of emerging variants and upcoming events like spring break gatherings. ....
