Comelec targets more youth registrants as registration resumes

No offer to join Marcos admin: Garcia

(PNA file photo) MANILA-Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner George Garcia on Wednesday said there is no offer from the incoming administration of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. "No offer whatsoever," he said in a Viber message when asked if the newly-elected Chief Executive has offered him a position in the government. When asked what are his plans, Garcia said, "I will pursue the electoral reforms that we started in a private capacity. The academe and private practice is (sic) so enticing." This year, the threat of Covid-19 also ranks high among election concerns. MANILA - Political parties joining the May 9 polls have until the second week of April to file their petition for accreditation for the determination of the dominant majority party and the dominant minority party. "A political party duly registered with the Commission may file a verified petition for accreditation for the determination of the Dominant Majority Party, the Dominant Minority Party, the 10 Major National Parties, and the 2 Major Local Parties.
