The company behind the redevelopment of Old County Hall in Truro is the same one behind the controversial Liner building in Falmouth, the Packet can reveal. A spokeswoman for Acorn Property Group’s Cornwall region, Acorn Blue said the company had entered a joint venture with the owner of the site to turn it into apartments. Acorn Property Group’s Cornwall region, Acorn Blue who have entered into a Joint Venture Partnership with the owners of the building to submit a planning application to redevelop the former Old County Hall and rear car park, she said in a statement. A RIVAL bid to redevelop the empty Marks and Spencer site in Falmouth into a co-working and innovation hub has been welcomed as a very innovative and an exciting opportunity for the town. Anthony Dann from the Pentire Group based in Newquay had written to Cornwall Council seeking pre-application advice regarding its proposal to create the hub complete with a food hall, gym, wellness centre and roof terrace at the site in Market Street with access to the waterfront. In a reply from principal development officer Laura Potts, the council said in principal the use of the site is supported by the Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) and: the offering of co-working spaces, leisure space, food outlets and outdoor space is very innovative and an exciting opportunity for Falmouth Town Centre.
