Georgia extends gas tax break following fuel outage article ATLANTA - Governor Brian Kemp has extended his executive order declaring a state of emergency because of the Colonial Pipeline shutdown. It was set to expire Saturday at midnight, but the order will now last through next week. The state collects a gasoline tax of 28.7 cents a gallon and a diesel tax of 32.2 cents a gallon.
