The Student Union Government of the University of Benin, in Edo State has been suspended indefinitely, over an attack on the state Labour Party governorship candidate, Olumide Akpata.  The Edo State government had condemned the attack on Akpata, at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) by students of the institution.

$413,000 Bribery: Court Again Adjourns Arraignment Of APC Chairman, Ganduje, Wife

The Kano State High Court has fixed May 16, 2024 for the scheduled arraignment of the immediate-past governor of Kano State and national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, on bribery charges.  Ganduje, his wife Hafsat and son Umar and five others, who are defendants in the suit, were expected to be arraigned on eight count charges bordering on a $413,000 bribery allegation, diversion and misappropriation of funds to the tune of N1.38billion and abuse of office among other allegations.

Over 250 Passengers Rescued From Capsized Boat By Nigerian Military In Rivers State

Nigerian Police Arrest Kaduna Resident For Abducting, Hiding 10-Year-Old Girl In Refrigerator

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the abduction of a 10-year-old girl at Unguwar Gara Village, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.    It was learnt that the abducted girl was hidden inside a refrigerator.   The Kaduna State Police command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the arrest of the suspect in a statement issued on Tuesday.

This was revealed by Doris Ikeri Solarin, President of the Nigerian Union of South Africa, during an interview with Voice of Africa, while discussing the actions taken thus far by Nigerian diplomats in the nation to cease the brutality. Doris said the union together with Nigeria’s Acting High Commissioner in South Africa met with the region police commander recently over the issue.

Process To Extradite Fleeing Binance Executive, Anjarwalla Ongoing – INTERPOL

The International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL) has assured that the fleeing crypto executive, Nadeem Anjarwalla, will be smoked out and extradited to Nigeria to face tax evasion charges levelled against him and his colleagues.       The Vice President of INTERPOL (Africa) Executive Committee, Garba Umar, made this known on Channels Television’s programme on Tuesday, noting that the paper works for Anjarwalla to be returned to Nigeria had commenced.
