This is where it all began, where police say a gunman shot and killed a soldier who was standing guard there. A ceremonial soldier a reservist, walked up to him and shot him in the chest. Then as the Police Reports go, the gunman entered parliament across the street and opened fire. We have many accounts from police that this was a walk across. It was described earlier today as a slow, methodical walk up to the soldier here, and then a walk from here to the Parliament Building. Im told this is about 200 yards once you make the zigzag thats necessary. There were other reports that he may have been in a car. Police are downplaying that.
