Environmental management workers recently completed the first demolition of a reactor in the central campus area of Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

For the first time in Oak Ridge history, environmental management crews are demolishing a former reactor facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

The Bulk Shielding Reactor - known as Building 3010 - is one of more than a dozen research reactors built at Oak Ridge National Laboratory since the 1950s, and is the first reactor at the Tennessee site to be demolished.
