Many local residents have expressed concerns that a recently proposed development project near Spruce Cape could negatively impact the quality of life for residents in the surrounding areas. Their concerns were aired at a meeting organized on behalf of Natives of Kodiak Inc., the Alaska Native Urban Corporation that owns the land. The corporation is seeking to develop 58 single-home units on 25 acres of land just south of the Spruce Cape trailhead. On Wednesday, DOWL, the engineering company hired to develop the land, met with community members on an online Zoom call to explain the project and hear the concerns of local residents. ....
