The Burton Agnes drum that has been hailed as the most important prehistoric find in the last 100 years was discovered during the building of a new biogas development.
The remains of three children were found alongside a drum, estimated to be about 5,000 years old. The British Museum calls it "the most important piece of prehistoric art to be found in Britain in the last 100 years." Archeologist Alice Beasley, who unearthed the artifacts, describes her discovery.
The 3,600-year-old Nebra Sky Disc and the 5,000-year-old Burton Agnes chalk drum are just two of 430 objects on display from today at the British Museum in London.
