WASHINGTON, May 14, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Students from several states across the nation will have an opportunity next week to hear from astronauts aboard the International Space Station. The Earth-to-space calls will air live on NASA Television, the NASA app, and the agency's website. All events will take place virtually.
On Monday, May 17, at 1:10 p.m. EDT, NASA astronaut Megan McArthur will answer prerecorded video questions from students across the greater Houston area coordinated by the Ismaili Council for the Southwestern United States. Participating students are from the Aldine, Alief, Fort Bend, Houston, and Stafford school districts, as well as the private Awty International, Etoile Academy, The Honor Roll, and The Village Schools. Organizations gather to assist senior citizens following winter storm

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- It's been a month since the historic winter storm hit Texas, and many Houston families are still without water and waiting for their home to get the repairs it needs.
Volunteers with Be The Solution in east Houston loaded their cars Saturday morning to make home deliveries of water and food to senior citizens, who would otherwise go without.
"I think this drive is a lesson learned from past drives that have happened post the winter freeze ," said Alim Adatia with Ismaili Council For The Southwestern U.S. "We realized, and so did the members of Be The Solution, that essentially the seniors need the food brought to them."
