Paul, i would note that how hypocritical it is that the reality of legacies and their admissions are vetted and part of the university structure everywhere including in public universities and this is launching an investigation into joe biden s alma mater, the university of delaware, which actively recruits and vets and celebrates its own legacy addition miss admissions. it s a sucker punch move. it s trying to, you know, get people all riled up about this, but it isn t necessarily an honest had lawsuit in that regard. paul: bill, alumni might give more if their kids or grand kids are likely to get in. why can t harvard or other schools try to build loyalty to their institution through this kind of precious? i mean, that s the argument, ....

Especially for private universities because private universities depend on the generosity of benefactors, mostly alumni and donors to build up their endowments and dot other things they want. i think, look, the problem is politically the people are getting against racial preferences which we support and if you make the case on merit and people should just be admitted by merit, it s harder to make the case for legacies. but it s more complicated than that. i agree i don t think it s good legal case and remember, the university is accused of doing this and as kim eluded to is the same universities that were found guilty of racial preferences and it s not two different classes of people, it s the same people and most persons understand that a guy who donates $30 million for a ....
