Shanklin Chine owner and former Isle of Wight high sheriff, Anne Springman, recalls the death of King George VI.
THE death of Queen Elizabeth II has had a profound affect on residents all across the Isle of Wight.
It will open the gates on April 12, and close again on Sunday, November 7. The Chine, now a registered charity, opens daily from 10am to 10pm, with illuminations switched on daily at dusk. The affiliated Fisherman’s Cottage Inn, on the beach nearby, will open the outside seating area (in accordance with Government guidelines) from April 12. There will be a limited menu on offer and the pub will operate a pre-booked table service only. It will open fully from May 17.
