One year ago, the murder of George Floyd, captured on video and shared around the world, set off a summer of protests with people demanding change in how police treat Black Americans. Following the protests, leaders in businesses, politics and religion promised change: that we would listen more carefully to the lived experiences of Black Americans and do more to ensure that all people are treated with dignity and respect.
