South Korean girl group April has been rocked by allegations of bullying for months and three of its members have finally spoken up.
Former April member Hyunjoo, 23, who is at the centre of the controversy, released a statement on Sunday (April 18) on Instagram, detailing what happened when she lived in a dorm with the other five members of the group.
"The bullying began in 2014, when I was preparing for my debut, and continued until 2016, when I left the group. I was 17 years old at the time and had to live in a dorm while preparing to debut, so I had to spend 24 hours a day with the perpetrators in a place where there was no one I could lean on," she wrote.

It's going to feel like -4C in Toronto this week with a chance of snow

I sincerely hope you didn't pack away your winter gear for the season yet, because the cold weather Toronto loves to hate is staging a return.
Our rollercoaster weather ride begins on Tuesday, if meteorologists are correct, when temperatures plummet by nearly 15 C in less than 24 hours.
With a high of 15 C in the forecast for Monday, the week will start off nicely before a strong cold front sinks south and mucks it all up.
Heavy snow continues for areas of northern Ontario today. Meanwhile, spring-like weather hangs on for one more day across the south before a burst of late-season snow sweeps in Tuesday night. #ONstorm#ONwx#ONsnow

Well done on your report (April 3) on the special Long Term Plan meeting that the council convened to consider the velodrome issue, which in giving the public some clarity of the issues, seemed to
raise many more on the process to date.
Sadly, in at last putting three options to the ratepayers, our council seem to have overlooked, even sidelined a small team of judicious and totally competent fellow ratepayers, the Regional Velodrome Development Trust (RVDT), who have led the charge for well over a decade. Why? Don't they trust them? ...

Leave scam
A Taiwanese man came up with an ingenious way of getting extended paid leave from work: he got married four times and divorced three times in just 37 days. According to Taiwanese law,
a person has the right to eight days' paid work leave when they get married, which is exactly what one unnamed clerk received when he got married last year. After that, it's back to work but the hero of our story had prepared for this in advance. On the last day of his eight-day leave, the man divorced his wife, only to marry her again the next day and ask for another paid leave, to which he felt he was entitled to, by law. He went on to marry the same woman four times, and divorce her three times in 37 days, for a total of 32 days of paid leave.

Governments like to ignore lessons from the past on housing, says a reader. Photo / File

Thank goodness for the rationale of Bryce Heard in his comment (Opinion, April 15).
Governments like it when the people forget the past, but I haven't forgotten when 35 years ago working for Housing Corp
(a government department managing taxpayer-funded houses) began selling off state houses all over the country.
This might seem a long time ago, but it ignited and has perpetuated the problems we have now.
