New Delhi India], May 24 (ANI): The feature for on-site registration and appointment is now being enabled for the 18-44 years age group on CoWIN, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed on Monday.
However, the feature is being enabled only for Government COVID Vaccination Centers (CVCs), at the present moment in time.
The health ministry said that this feature will not be available for Private CVCs presently, and the Private CVCs will have to publish their vaccination schedules exclusively with slots for online appointments.

Coronavirus positivity rate comes down to 12.13 pc in Gurugram

In two weeks' time, Covid-19 positivity rate in Gurugram district has come down to 12.13 per cent from 24 per cent. Similarly, the recovery rate has also increased to 95.65 per cent, according to an official statement of the district administration.
According to health officials, now the number of daily reported patients in Gurugram district has come down significantly. Only 516 Covid cases were reported in Gurugram on Saturday.
Deputy Commissioner Gurugram Yash Garg said that on April 29, the district registered a positivity rate of 41.98 per cent, 34.91 per cent on April 30, 34.4 per cent on May 2, 24 per cent on May 11 and on May 23, it came down to 12.13 per cent.

Through this column of your esteemed daily, I would like to highlight the problem faced by the common people of the age group of 18-44 to register at Cowin, Umang App or Arogya Setu App for vaccination appointment against Coronavirus. People are facing problems while booking the slots as it begins after 4 pm and most of the time it doesn't. Nonetheless, it begins for a few minutes, but within 2-3 minute all the slots get booked and the minimum numbers of available slots are 5-10 in most of the centres.

New Delhi [India], May 20 (ANI): Underlining the need for greater collaboration between countries on various aspects of health, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said Wednesday said that an important lesson COVID-19 has taught is that preparedness costs only a fraction of the impact of a pandemic, but the returns on this investment are exponential.
He made these remarks during his virtual address to the conference on "COVID-19 Pandemic: A Call for Health Security and Peace in the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region", the health ministry statement said.
Revisiting the one-year wrath of the novel coronavirus since COVID-19 was declared a public health emergency of international concern, Vardhan said, the pandemic has underlined the need for greater collaboration between countries on various aspects of health.
