Now for hours, this neighborhood was blocked off as Police Helicopters swat teams and officers surrounded the suspects home in hopes of negotiating his surrender. A suspect is in custody after he allegedly shot and wounded a San Jose Police officer as she was responding to a family disturbance. It happened at a home near race street and ausable avenue just before eight in the morning. Shortly after arrival, officers made contact at the residence and immediately began taking fire from a suspect. One officer was hit by gunfire and was transported to a local hospital for that injury.
