The Kirksville Kiwanis Club welcomed Scott Williamson to speak at their March 21 meeting. Williamson is the Chief of Police for the Kirksville Police Department. He presented an update on the department and discussed the possibility of a new police station. The Veterans Day 2023 ceremony was held at the Rieger Armory in Kirksville on Saturday, Nov. 11. Prior to the program, an open house was held by several veteran service organizations.
A Memorial Day ceremony was held at the Rieger Armory on South Elson Street in Kirksville, Monday, May 29. Over 50 people attended and took part in the solemn ceremony that honored the nation’s soldiers that made the ultimate sacrifice. The event was coordinated by local chapters of the Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
