Mrs World title Drama: Pushpika voices out at the media conference

The twist and turns of the Mrs World pageant held on Sunday continues and to add another twist in this drama Pushpika de Silva holding a media conference today stated that she will take on the issue of divorcees contesting at the pageant to the world body.
However she also dropped a bombshell stating that she will pursue a political career and had also attempted to contest the Parliamentary elections from the Polonnaruwa District last time but she was not given nominations. 
She stated that she has an intention of entering politics in the future. She further state that she will carry on her struggle as a single mother and stand in solidarity with them.  ....

People swimming at Tauranga and Mount Maunganui s beaches this Easter weekend are urged to be aware of the presence of great white sharks.
The Department of Conservation says regular sightings and encounters with great whites in the Tauranga area continue.
DoC marine technical adviser Clinton Duffy says people travelling to the beach for the long weekend need to be aware of the marine animals seen around our coastlines. ....

The New Orleans Police Department is asking residents to be aware of their surroundings at gas pumps in the city. NOPD said in the past 15 hours, there have been three incidents reported; two armed robberies and one aggravated assault with a firearm. Police say the incidents were reported in the Seventh District. The incidents happened in the 5200 block of Crowder Boulevard, 6000 Block of Bullard, and the intersection near Morrison and Lamb Roads. NOPD said the suspects have been reported to be carrying firearms wearing all black clothing. Police ask residents not to leave keys in their cars while at the gas station or leave their cars unattended. Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to cal ....

The resurgence of cattle raiding in Karamoja has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of shepherds who ve been killed while trying to fight off the raiders. Their widows are now left to fend for themselves. One woman has set up an initiative to help them.
