There was an uproar of chaos at the broadcasted Mrs. Sri Lanka beauty pageant last week, when the newly crowned Pushpika De Silva was captured leaving the stage in tears, after the crown was forcibly snatched from her head by former title holder Caroline Jurie.
Jurie claimed that De Silva was ineligible for the title of “Mrs Sri Lanka” since she was divorced. Later declaring on a Facebook post that she was separated but not divorced and the win was dedicated to single mums like herself, De Silva claimed she would take legal action against Jurie.

Earlier this month, Mrs World 2020 Caroline Jurie made headlines when she pulled the crown off Pushpika de Silva's head just minutes after being declared the winner of Mrs Sri Lanka 2020.

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka - The reigning Mrs. World has relinquished her title while defending her decision to pull the crown off the head of this year's Mrs. Sri Lanka title holder.
She claimed the other woman was unqualified to take part in the contest because she is divorced.
Caroline Jurie, the winner of Mrs. World 2020, has been accused of injuring Pushpika De Silva, who was crowned Mrs. Sri Lanka on Sunday at a televised pageant in Colombo.
Jurie was arrested on Thursday and later released on bail.
In a statement Friday, Jurie said she stood against “injustice” and said the pageant was “tainted.”

After the reigning Mrs. World, Caroline Jurie, resigned over the Mrs. Sri Lanka pageant on-stage fracas, first runner-up Kate Schneider from Ireland was bestowed with the title of Mrs. World 2020. Mrs. World Inc. announced in a statement on Wednesday that it received the resignation of Caroline Jurie, and therefore, Mrs. Ireland Kate Schneider was the new titleholder. The agency published a photograph of Schneider with the title Mrs. World. Jurie was involved in a controversy at the Mrs. Sri Lanka pageant after she aggressively pulled the crown off the head of the title winner Pushpika De Silva, inuring her at a ceremony on national TV.

The reigning Mrs World has quit her title weeks after she was arrested for snatching the crown from the head of a beauty pageant winner in a savage onstage attack.
Caroline Jurie, 28, who is the current Mrs World, attacked Pushpika De Silva as she was being crowned Mrs Sri Lanka in a pageant ceremony in Colombo earlier this month.
Ms Jurie had herself been crowned Mrs Sri Lanka in 2019 before going onto win the Mrs World title.
Ms Jurie was arrested and released on bail following the bizarre incident, which was aired on Sri Lankan TV and broadcast live on social media.

The reigning “Mrs World”, Caroline Jurie, has returned her crown of her own accord weeks after an on-stage fracas in which she pulled the crown off the head of the winner of the Mrs Sri Lanka beauty pageant, organisers said.
“Her voluntary resignation decision was made solely by Caroline herself,” Mrs World Inc said in a news release on social media on Wednesday.
