Brookfield First Selectwoman Tara Carr was defeated in the last election. Today, we have learned that Carr wants to use sick time for her final days in office. Carr has filed for 11 days worth of sick time, beginning the day after she lost the November 7 election, covering most of the rest of her term. It remains unclear however, how much of the requested time off Carr filed for after she lost.

A year-long investigation by Wilton Police into a stolen check has ended with the arrest of a man from New York. 28 year old Joaquin Antonio Fletepena of the Bronx was arrested for stealing the check from a Wilton resident and then changing the amount… a process known as ‘check washing’… to fraudulently cash it. In this case, investigators said the check was washed for a higher amount and fraudulently deposited. Fletepena is facing charges including third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree identity theft, and conspiracy to commit third-degree forgery.
