Years. Now it has come to a functional standstill. As noncontroversial nominations some of which were approved out of the committee by overwhelming votes, the majority of republicans, majority of democrats, they languished on the executive calendar. Now our colleagues on the other side of the aisle did their best to slow the pace of confirmations when the senate was under democratic leadership. And now theyre sluggishly moving nominations under a senate they control. And, mr. President its culminated in the irresponsible partisan blockade of president Obamas Supreme Court pick.
