The nominees were chosen by a unanimous vote of 19 jurors from over 1,300 entries from television, podcasts/radio and the web in entertainment, news, documentary, arts, children’s/youth, public service and multimedia programming. The nominations span documentaries, news programming, television and streaming. PBS led the pack with 12 nominations for its nonfiction programming like the recent “Asian Americans” series and “PBS NewsHour” coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic.
