Personnel of Rajaswa Ratha collect taxes and documents from households in Berhampur BHUBANESWAR: The revenue and disaster management department has asked the district collectors to emulate Ganjam’s ‘Rajaswa Ratha’ model across the state to provide revenue-related services to people’s doorsteps during the Covid-19 pandemic. “The Rajaswa Ratha programme is an innovative programme to provide revenue-related services to the citizens in a hassle-free manner during the pandemic. It can be considered as a best practice for good governance and should be emulated in all districts,” state revenue secretary Bishnupada Sethi said in a letter to the district collectors. The Ganjam administration has recently started the Rajaswa Ratha programme as part of which the tehsil or revenue department officials go from door to door in a vehicle to collect applications and documents for mutations and various certificate services and for distribution of record of rights (pattas) and such other certificates.
BHUBANESWAR: With an aim for expeditious issuance of various certificates to citizens and to bring transformational changes in the system, the state government on Tuesday issued revised set of guidelines. As per the guidelines issued by state revenue secretary Bishnupada Sethi, certificates like resident, asset and income, which are presently issued within 15 days, will now be issued delivered within 10 days of receiving the application by the tehsil offices. While it take 30 days at present for issuance of caste certificates like scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, socially educationally backward classes and other backward classes, the revised guidelines said caste certificates will now be issued within 15 days of application.

1.39 Lakh Dwelling Houses Sanctioned Under Odisha Urban Housing Mission 124 Bhubaneswar: In a significant move towards providing dwelling houses to urban poor, a total number of 1, 39,149 dwelling houses have been sanctioned for homeless households in 114 towns and cities of Odisha. This was known from the State Level Sanctioning and Monitoring (SLSM) committee meeting held on digital mode under the Chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner Sri Suresh Chandra Mohapatra from Lokseba Bhawan today wherein Principal Secretary Housing & Urban Development Sri G. Mathivathanan outlined the issues for discussion. Reviewing the progress made so far, Development Commissioner Sri Mohapatra directed the urban local bodies (ULBs) to intensify Jaga mission activities in their respective areas. Sri Mohapatra said, “House is the bare basic need of the urban poor and allotting a piece of homestead land to the landless will be an effective encounter to urban poverty. Right over a piece of land, while enabling access of the urban poor to OUHM programmes will also add to their identity and self-dignity”.
