Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan on Tuesday said the state government is committed to decentralisation under which it will establish Visakhapatnam as the administrative capital, Vijayawada as the legislative capital and Kurnool the judiciary’s capital.
He was speaking at the 72nd Republic Day celebrations at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in the presence of Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Amaravati, Jan 26 : Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswa Bhushan Harichandan said the state is marching ahead with emphasis on education, health care, agriculture and welfare, on Tuesday at the 72nd Republic Day celebrations.
“The beneficiaries are selected in a transparent manner without any scope for discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, religion or political affiliation by implementing the schemes in a saturation mode by covering all eligible persons,” said Harichandan.
According to the Governor, the state has passed through testing times with the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic and the government has effectively handled the situation by taking measures to win accolades from across the country.

“The right to vote is the mother of all political rights provided under the Constitution. Every citizen of the country, including youth, should feel proud of performing their respective Constitutional duties as this will ensure their meaningful participation and significant contribution to the growth of the nation and the society,” said Harichandan.

Amaravati, Jan 21 : Andhra Pradesh High Court's green signal to conduct the rural local bodies elections drew an immediate response from the government employees associations, who highlighted that their lives are more important than the elections amid the Coronavirus pandemic on Thursday.
"Whatever be the judgment, it is our lives. The Governor should use his discretionary powers to temporarily postpone the elections. We have already said that there will be many judgments but the lives are ours," exhorted an employee.
