Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan rejects any process that leads to the marginalization of Russia in grain export efforts through the Black Sea. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed his country's adherence to its conditions for returning to the grain agreement. Moscow withdrew from the agreement in July, saying provisions on its export of grains and fertilizers would not be implemented under Western sanctions. The grain agreement, brokered by Turkey and the United Nations in July 2022, allowed grain to be shipped from Ukrainian ports on theBlack Sea.
