The New Jersey night sky was lit up early Wednesday when an apparent meteor or falling star was captured dropping from above.
A fragment of an asteroid disintegrated in the sky 22 miles over Hanover Sunday night, NASA said.
On Sunday, there were more than 40 reports of a blazing streak from space. The meteor was seen at least as far south as Santa Fe, New Mexico the two cities are around 400 miles apart (640 kilometers).
