Its 9am in singapore, 1am in the morning in london and 9am in beijing, where chinas government has introduced new restrictions on the import of foreign waste, much of it dirty or hazardous. The country has been importing large amounts of waste plastic and paper every year from europe, japan and the United States to be recycled. Its estimated that china accepted 51 of global plastic scrap imports in 2016.
