Brodhead said the Brodhead Association was founded to preserve and restore the armory as “a historically significant national treasure in honor of the brave men and women in the military who fight or have fought for this country, and as a museum and educational destination for school children, tourists, and local residents.”
The Parade Company has purchased the old Brodhead Armory building across from Bell Isle and will convert it into a new 160,900 square foot headquarters. The new headquarters will serve as a community destination for residents and visitors on the Detroit Riverfront and a new spot for float building, said Parade Company President and CEO Tony Michael
The Parade Company announced Monday a new campaign to help raise $45 million for new headquarters along the Detroit Riverfront.
The company says it has raised 20-25% of the amount needed to redevelop the former Brodhead Armory along the Detroit River for its new home.
