Daniel Diehl lowered his own boys' 17-18 NAG record from prelims in the men’s 100-meter backstroke final on Friday night, clocking a 53.07 in the final.
Diehl took hold of the boys' 17-18 National Age Group Record in the 100 backstroke that had been on the books since Ryan Murphy went 53.38 in 2013.
The Texas men, led by Carson Foster, will race Destin Lasco, Bjorn Seeliger and defending national champion Cal at the Minnesota Invite.
