Punch Newspapers Sections Sunday Aborisade, Abuja A former governor of Zamfara State Abdulaziz Yari, has appealed against the judgment of a Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja which ordered him to forfeit N248m to the Federal Government. The Media aide to the former governor, Mayowa Oluwabiyi, said this in a statement in Abuja, on Sunday. He assured members of the public that the appellate court would vindicate Yari. Oluwabiyi said Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, last Tuesday, ruled that Yari should forfeit $669,248 and N24.3m to the government. He, however, said, the court gave Yari, 14 days to show cause why he should not forfeit the money. ....
Tobi Soniyi The Patriots for the Advancement of Peace and Social Development (PAPS) has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), to seek explanation from a former Zamfara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulaziz on how he spent N288.4 billion belonging to the state. In a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday, Chairman of PAPS Dr Sani Abdulahi Shinkafi accused Yari of leaving the state in huge indebtedness.
